The REAL scoop on "Finger Freeze" and what to do!!

Post by Quetzalcoatl »

Lately, lot's of sailors, Kiters have chimmed in on their best fix on combating finger freeze.
Bottom line is: USE MITTS!. (Dekine mitts work fine). Fingers keep warmer when together. NOT Gloves!

Also use extra large mitttens! This works! But: Really, two main things, Ya need to get that initial freeze up
of fingers. Then come in,,,thaw fingers out,,and go out again and now they won't freeze again.

Also...DON't hang on so tight to the boom. adjust your harness lines so there is proper balance and you should

be able to sail with fingers lightly touching the boom (like playing the piano)...this means you're just sailing through the

lines and hanging from them. Of coursed ocassionally you'll have to grab on tight during a gust or when flipping the sail

during a gybe. Winter windsurfing has some differences ya need to adjust to. It's not as free as Summer time.

Oh...lately I've been fixing up my spaceship,,so it's ready to go when I need it! Quetzalcoatl out.

P.S. Anybody know how to re-build a Warp-Drive?
