Just two of us windsurfers were on Lake Pepin (at the Pt.) last Friday.
The NW wind was just steady at 28-30 mph with gusts near 40. Pete was on JP 102 liter
and started with 5.2 sail but switched early to a 4.5. I (Eric) just stayed with my 5.2 sail
and 112 liter board. By the PT,,big rolling waves cruzing by on outside of Green buoy.
In middle of lake Big time chop, deep trouphs tween waves so not really good for ramps for
take off. Closer to Wisconsin shore smooth butterlike conditons (even thought the wind increased on Wisc. side). So,,,it was great the the wind was constant,,,never subsiding
even after sunset. Only downside of this was that the wind didn't really produce smooth
wave ramps. But Heck,,,there WAS Wind! How about some stories from other sailers/kiters?

Shifty wind. VooDoo Chop. Fun and Frustrating at the same time...hard to find good ramps. Needed a smaller board. The Legend being Legendary holding onto a flattened 5.2 and maintaining on such a large board. Rock On Eric Legend Dude!
