The SPI Kite Ranch is a private 16 acre kiteboarding compound. The kite ranch spans the width of South Padre Island from the waves in the Gulf to the butter flat water of the Laguna Madre. Located almost to the end of the road on SPI approximately 6 miles North of the Convention Center, The Kite Ranch has the strongest and steadiest wind on the island. There is a huge sandbar at our bay side launch site and we also have jet ski support for the occasional "yard sale." You can also enjoy flatwater downwinders to or from the South Flats or up to 12 mile runs riding the waves. The Ranch is a private community of kiters who are stoked on kiteboarding, the lifestyle and love the outdoors. We are also offering primitive eco-friendly camping on the ranch. We are currently building a solar shower and a sunset viewing palapa, deck and bonfire pit. There is a portapotty onsite and we will be adding other amenities as soon as possible. Annual 2013/2014 memberships are available for $75, and a guest passes for monthly $30, weekly $20 or a $5 daily use fee. All beginner SPI Kiteboarding students will receive an honorary membership for 2014 and all annual passes are good for all of 2014.
