Waconia sunset

Post by fabrino »

Hi all

Fantastic and warm evening last night at Waconia, lots of kiters and windsurfers and lots of smiling faces..
could not resist shooting a quick vid as I was leaving..

also a technical comment.. yesterday for the first time I rode a SS Rally 9 (2012 model).
I was totally impressed with the upwind features of that kite compared to my other kites (SS Key and RPM).
At the beginning of my session in particular the wind was light and up and down so I was worried to be underpowered with a 9..
instead any time there was a puff the kite on its own would go to the edge of the window and just pull me upwind..
as a result I had no problem staying upwind in conditions where I know I would have struggled mightily on my 12 RPM...
I did not expect a kite design could make such a big difference, but for me it did..

ride on
f.

What a beautiful night to be on the water at Waconia! Eric, Jim, Marc, Scott, and I were the last off the water at the DNR launch. We just couldn't hang it up while watching the sky change amazing colors 360 degrees around us. Thanks for the video! Anybody know who was taking pictures with the tripod on the beach? I bet they got some really good shoots of kites in front of the colorful horizon.

Fabrino - Nice video even with music already!

There were also a bunch of us at the north launch on Wac enjoying the same conditions
