Anyone ever kited the St. Croix Lake in Solon Springs WI? I have looked at it on mapquest and it looks to be about 2500ft wide and winds for this friday look to be developing for almost straight south.

Yea, on a SE, Lucius Woods State Park is okay, kind of gusty, but an experienced rider should be fine. They have a nice rigging area, with a decent beach, drops off 40-50 ft from shore. and there's a spot to bail if you decide(in time) that you wont be able to make it upwind. Fridays calling for SW I believe, but it might line up. I may check it out I don't have school that day. I don't think there's any where better if anywhere at all to launch.

Got there around 1, wind was blowin about 10 to 15. 15 minutes later it picked up to about 17 gusting to 23. Rode for about an hour then it dropped around 2:30, and I packed up. The wind was actually alot smoother than I expected. Got some nice boosts in, hope someone else got out. For a second I thought you went to the st croix flowage in hudson, I talked to a friend of mine that said that would also be an awesome kkite spot. Beaches for miles!
