Okoboji Kite Festival June 18-20 2004

Post by cp2616 »

This is just a heads up that we are having the Okoboji Kite Festival June 18-20 2004. We are still planning but here is what we know.

We are leaning toward less structure. No competition other than maybe best trick, biggest air, best crash. We are going to try to select riding locations to maximize water time for all riders for the conditions of the day.

Red Bull and Okoboji Watersports are sponsors.

Murphy will be there.

There will be a social event which will include the obligatory visit to Boji Nights.

Let me know if you have any other ideas. I'll post more, as we get closer.

Um, did you say Murphy would be there?

Mary-Jane, my kiter-sense is tingling... I sense trouble... :-P

The weekend before is a the Windsurfing Ragatta and Music fest. in Worthington. A lot of us will try to attend both events. A lot of driving for us Twin Cities folk. What about doing them on the same weekend?

the best contest format in my opinion is no format at all, just free ride jam session.

I could guarentee wind the same weekend as the worthington event my brother is getting married that saturday and i have to be there. The wedding is at Gull Point State Park though which would double as a great site for an event on West Lake....

sounds like both boji nights and murph are going to be around summer, so we expect to see more of both coach, matt, and anyone else interested in wind and women...

spirit will be out within the next few weeks so anyone interested in some early cold water sessions let us know if you're coming down...

tighe sounds like i just missed you guys in padre, i was there for the two weeks before you and had a great time as well. let me know if it works out for another trip this spring, i may be interested...
