Greetings and Meet ups

Post by hondamon »

Hello fellow Minnesotans or Regioners! Good to find this forum. I just want to introduce myself and hopefully find out where people will be kiting to meet up.
Im from the Duluth area and taught for a few years around the TC from 2000 to 04. I've now been teaching in Korea for a little more than 8 years. I come home just about every summer, which I will be again from July 20 to Aug 15. I'm hoping to find times and locations to meet up with kiters while I'm home. I'm pretty new to kiting but can stay upwind no prob.
Anyhow looking forward to meeting as many of you as I will in that timeframe. Cheers!

Hi Damon- Welcome... Let's hope you bring us some wind in our normally wind starved summer doldrums... Right about the time you come...Good luck to you and all of us.... No wind in the immediate future... Waconia is my normal Hood...

Hey Scott, thanks for the post. Im not sure I can bring much wind...theres not a whole lot over here in Korea during the summers either. I did just order a Zephyr so hopefully itll get me out there more than before. I already have a 14m Catalyst and usually here in Korea I could use a little more grunt and i am only around 170lbs. Oh I also just got a CF Cruiser Pro 145x44 so that could also help. Anyhow Ill usually be staying in Blaine while im back. Hopefully we'll be able to meet up for some sessions. Cheers!

Hey Chad. I definitely will do that. Is there a way on here to contact people u2u or email as well? Looking forward to a fun month back in MN! Right now I can't stop thinking about food and kiting. And no subway or other public transportation. :)

Hi Damon,

Check out the lakes section for some possible locations. I'm more into snowkiting but if I head out on the water while you're here I'll let you know. I owe you a ride to Mille Lacs or the like
