NO GLARE ON D'BEAR!

Post by JRN »

Arrived @ Mahto to find Slopecat out making fresh tracks. The past few snows had filled the ruts , & left vast untracked reaches. Made several runs on my 11m after he left. Other than a few ice anglers off Bellaire, we had the entire lake to play. Sun, wind and gorgeous cloud formations rolling by, made it and afternoon to remember. Hope you all get a chance to enjoy it as well & soon. 8)

Perhaps my best day out the whole season. :D The conditions were great. Plenty of snow. I rode both my board and then skis and had a lot of fun. GPS indicated I put down 20+ miles of tracks myself. It was a bummer that more people didn't get out to enjoy it. At least I got to ride with Jim for a little bit before I headed out. I was there from about 1:30 to 5pm.

The wind forecasts I had seen were showing max. 10mph all afternoon so I was hoping there would be enough wind to fly the big Turbine. I found 15-18mph when I arrived at 1:30pm. I flew a 10m foil the whole time and moved along quite well even with the snow.

If the wind is up tomorrow I recommend heading over there.

Got to Ramsey late to find quite a crew out, while some were departing. Way different conditions with ice heaves & deeper ruts beneath the snow. It made for some interesting terrain for those up to the challenge, including anticipating the lumps & bumps when the light faded. Should prove even more so, with the blizzards forecast in the coming days. Be careful out there.

Rode ramsey also today for about 5 hours. Muy fantastico amigos. Cool jumps and iceheaves. The ridge of grass to boost, great surface and some sunshine. Now to the Jacuzzi tub with a brew. Mmm tomorrow?

It was an excellent day on the Bear today. The surface was actually really good when it was sunny out. Although, I did get a nice surprise when I hit a half-buried tire rut which caused me to do an unexpected half front roll. Good times, and a good crew out there, sorry we missed you Jim.
