Looking to possibly upgrading our electric pump situation. I have seen a few nice ones out there with pressure switches (Dean R). Could someone give me some names and model numbers?
thanks,
Paul

$65 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002MU ... 9528B3N4QM
Designate setpoint psi within 1/10. Pumps up about 4 avg size kites. Powers also off car lighter/jack with built in chord stored in unit underneath.
I've had 4 and will continue to replace them as needed:
1. First one I found doesn't float (dropped it in the lake getting out of boat)
2. 2nd one I donated to a kite event as give-away
3. Left out in the rain in the boat
4. I'm taking better care of
It's lasted me close to a year.
I have an older Bravo (like in Bryce's link) I'll sell for $50. I've lost the recharge chord to it.

Re: rechargeable pumps
I've got a Bravo pump too.
It's the BTP12 Digital from Dave Inks (http://www.waterstrider.com/kite-pumps.htm) and I am using the Ni-Mh battery with it. Works great, and will inflate up to 14 psi (plenty of pressure to destroy your kite!) and will stop at the pressure you designate (within 0.1 psi), so there's no need to top off by hand.
The Ni-Mh is light weight, but I usually get 4-8 kites per charge in summer (less in winter). I can fill my 17M Zephyr to 8 psi in 5 minutes... about as long as it takes to get my lines untangled.
Like Mike said... don't drop your pump in the lake.

Re: rechargeable pumps
I've used the same Coleman rechargeable QuickPump for several years now. For $40 this works great and will inflate kites all day on a single charge. The key to optimum battery life is to not attach any of the included valve adapters and inflate your kite through the exhaust valve. Just hold the pump to the valve and in 20 seconds you will have your kite 90% inflated. Close off the kite valve and finish the remaining 10% with five or six strokes of your regular air pump and you are ready to go.

Just replaced my Coleman Rechageable QuickPump with the newer grey model of the one pictured above. About 29 bucks at Target.

Re: rechargeable pumps
I am all about the Coleman pump using it as a 90% starter. I hate pumping against nothing on my inflatables.
It also works great to put a bit of air into a closed cell foil on those sub 6mph days. I had some days when it was blowing about 3mph on the ground but about 12-15 feet up it was blowing 10mph to 15mph. Namely at Ottertail last year. I was there and experienced this for 2 days and I still don't believe it, but it happened. A crash meant that you disconnected and did not have to anchor the kite, then re-set the kite leading edge up (would not reverse relaunch), then walked back to the board and run started the kite. Ten seconds later you were jumping and clearing an ice fishing hut.
Love this pump and a charge lasts a long time if you do not use it to fully inflate the kite.

Re: rechargeable pumps
Thanks for the input.
I thought I saw the black and decker inflators at the new Salvation army store by Moore lake, but I was wrong. But they do have a few of the rechargeable Colemans for $15. They were in retaped boxes, so I was questioning how long they have been on the shelf. It looked brand new and powered up fine, so I will continue using that type till I get the good inflator. Hope to try it out tonight.

Re: rechargeable pumps
Mark is spot on about the Coleman pump. I bought one three years ago and have used the hell out of it from 15 below to 90 above.
Way faster and about 1/10th the price of some two stage models.
The key, like he said, was to inflate through the deflate valve (larger volume of air)
It's a balmy -21 today, yeah baby!
