Post by shera »

We got wind, now where is the best place to find snow.....any suggestions closer to the cities on a NW wind?

How is Calhoun after the warm temps, Medicine Lake....etc?

I would like to get out after work today and hoping for a little light from the city.

LEAH, Haven't seen your name pop up in a while. Glad to see that you're still riding. I haven't checked out any other lakes, but was out on WBL yesterday afteroon off Mahtomedi. It was very patchy with a 3 to 4" snow cover, interspersed with small areas of bare ice. I'm hoping that all these little snow events will eventually add up to full coverage, and even some depth to cushion the landings. Hope you find a nice spot to kite!

I headed west today and hit Belle lake just south of Washington and north of Hutch. Lake was 99% snow covered. Hutch got 3 inches of snow yesterday which is stuck to the ice by the rain that came first and the light rain after the snow. There was a distinct line about 10 miles of east of Hutch where the snow started. I would guess Washington is the same as Belle, but didn't go there so can't say for sure.

Rode solo at Washington. Same coverage. There is open water in the middle 100yd. X 1/4 mi. size. Water skipping anyone
