Snow in Duluth?

Post by MK »

Rice Lake has had some promising reports.

Here's some webcams that came up on a quick search (best viewed during daylight  http://www.d.umn.edu/webcams/duluth.html

I WAS IN DULUTH YESTERDAY. I didn't check out Rice LK, but it looked almost as snowless as down here in the Cities. I'd check with Jeff or Stroh before venturing up. How is the ice by SailaVie? I may try iceboarding by the so. shore today, if the snow holds off this morning. Happy New Year to all my fellow WindRiders! Hope to see your frozen faces soon. :|

I was on rice yesterday and on tuesday. Ice is not an issue, it is about 10-14 inches thick. The lake has sketchy bonded snow overall (a combination of bonded snow and bare ice, enough to hold an edge for boarding though.) and slightly better snow conditions along the rim of the lake.

Hope this helps. I may be out Sunday, if the rain holds off.
