Hello everyone. I need an advice. So I bought the kite. It's one year old according to it's previous owner was inflated only once for demo. And that is exactly how it looks. It super crispy, fresh and just smells like a new kite
However, once I received it I inflated it right away... There was an obvious leak on one of the struts. There was tiny pin hole on it that I fixed and put the strut back into the place. Even though I used to fix bladders before it was weird to see dark gray spots on the clear material of the strut.. (that where was that pin hole) So I put it back together, went outside, inflated it and it wouldn't hold the air again(It would deflate in 2 minutes). I discovered another hole in the bladder. I haven't fixed it yet. What should I do??? I guess I could send it back to the owner and take my money back. Or I could fix it, but I'm very concerned about t house dark gray dots on the clear inflating material ))
I found at least 7 cracks at the leading edge(bladder) I fixed 5 of them and then thought that it's not worth it... Tx for the replies anyways))I bought the kite over a grand and i think i will return it back to the seller... It's 2011 epic screamer) I guess topic is closed. Thank you all for reading
I know a guy that use to be a dealer for several brands, one of them was Epic. He recently dropped the brand and told me he thought they were very "2nd rate kites". He's now selling Cabrinhas instead. Sorry to hear of your troubles, I'm sure it was a very frustrating situation.
I just did a mark-up on cost to replace bladders and valves on an 06 kite. It's unfortunate how the cost builds sooo close but just under the cost of new kite. You may be able to salvage the kite by replacing the bladder(s). Maybe the manufacturer will send them to you?
I sent an email to manufacture today. haven't got any feedback yet.
However, they had screamers on sale so i bought one new one and they shipped it to me with new extra set of bladders (hope i won't need them)
btw i wrote wrong it's 2010 screamer, not 11. According to manufacture they have changed bladder supplier for 11 and 12 years.
Hope my extra set of bladders was made by last one)
