Hi all,
John and I have booked our tickets and rented a car for our Nov trip to SPI. We will be there from the 19th thru the 26th, which means we will be celebrating thanksgiving there. We have not made any lodging plans yet but most likely will rent a condo with a full kitchen so we can cook for thanksgiving or not. I was just wondering if there is any interest from the MN crew who want to get together to celebrate thanksgiving in SPI. I believe this has been discussed in a thread a few years ago involving Jim and Pat? Anyway, I think it will be great if we could get together on the island.

Re: SPI Thanksgiving
Booked flights yesterday, arrinving Saturday the 19th for 10 days. Suncountry and KDWB offering the current savings of 20% off flights on Sun Country if your looking to book tickets. Thanksgiving Dinner either in a condo or one of the fine dining establishments works well.. Is it time for Roll call yet ?

Eu Han,
I'm planning on going down to SPI from Nov. 3 to 8 with the LAKAWA group and then again from No. 23 to 27. So count me in for American Thanksgiving. (We Canadians celebrate Turkey Day much earlier in the year, in October.)

Marc/Rob/Anyone else,
Yay!!! Sounds like fun!!! On a separate note, I'm planning to rent a condo for the week, full kitchen, 2.5 bath, pool etc. It's a 3 bedroom and I may be able to get it at a rate of 100/night. It may be a little more or less, not quite sure yet. It fits 7-8. John and I are definitely in on this place and we'd hate to spend thanksgiving in travelodge. Should we make poutine as our special dish? I just had poutine a couple of weeks ago in Uptown, I really enjoyed it. Also, I'm concerned that we might get carried away with cooking and not kite... we really love to cook. So, we might need a menu oversight committee. Marc, what is your phone number? Otherwise my email starts with leexx638

Eu Han,
Count me in for the condo. I'll only make it from Nov. 23 to 27. (I teach Tues./Thur. I can get one of my grad students or postdocs to cover for me, but I'm already missing plenty of teaching this semester.) At $100/night/condo, or $33/night/person, I'll gladly pay my share for the full week.

Poutine is freakin' awesome.

Re: SPI Thanksgiving
It won't be long until we get to play down there. My group is going the first couple of weeks in Nov. I'd like to join the Tgiving crew but doesn't work this year. Makes me hungry for Turkey dinner though just talking about it.
