Kitesuring with Wakesurfer?

Has anyone tried a wakesurfer in light air? How was it? I imagine it would be a handful if the wind comes up.

I gave it a go on the SS Arcane wakesurfer. I was trying to match a lightwind kite and board option. I gave it a go for just a bit but didn't like having to fight to go upwind. I think I need to try it a few more times to have a better review.

However, I did notice the board I was using didn't have much of a rail on it, very rounded. Good bouancy and maneuvering but not much of an edge. I'd like to try it again on a board with more of a sharp edge.

I did give a skim board a go and found that surprisingly easy. It's a different direction than a light wind option but I had no problems edging on it (no fins). The edge is what made the difference b/t it and the Arcane. I'm now sold on the skim board for both super shallow riding and even cruising out on regular sessions. I really enjoyed not being strapped in and playing with my stance.

Seems like the Turbine or Zephyr like big kite on a bouyant board could add several days of kiting when the lighter winds are in.

I got a Hyperlite/landlock from the House. Denis has one, too. A skim rider like you'd do well on one.
I'll drag it to the beach for you to try. Chad could blaze up wind on it by really working the fins. You'd probably like my LF fish, too..kinda a skim/surf hybrid. Call me next time it blows & I'll hook you up.

I recieved the Hyperlite Broadcast wakesurfer I ordered yesterday. While unpacking it I noticed that one of the rails has a blowout about 5cm in length where it was damaged (I assume) during shipping.

Other than that it looks like it will work pretty well. It's has a nice sharp rail, more like a traditional kiteboard that a surfboard.

Hopefully I'll get it repaired or replaced quickly so I can give it a try and post a review.

I just purchased the Lf Kitefish-- it should be here next week. Looks like just the board I have wanted for light air. Bigger than a skimboard and more fun that a big TT. Should be lots of fun paired up with the Zephyr.

LF kitefish
I picked up a liquid force kitefish this fall, I've ridden it for about 2 hours. It's real easy to ride with or without straps. the hard part is the jibe. haven't figured it out yet. Larry o , suggested learning to jibe without straps , last week a mille, so i took them off. It made it a lot easier to attempt to jibe, in my opinion. the board seams to hold an edge , and point up wind in the gusts. Id recommend taking the straps off after the first ride. One more point, with the straps it rides surprisingly well backwards.
