Big Ups to my friend Chris Boyle! Chris will be starting his new job at Slingshot Sports tomorrow, it is great to see products being made in the USA and Slingy is doing awesome things in the Wake industry. Chris has been contracting with them for 5 months now. I have watched this kid quit his job and pursue his passion to work in the industry and recently he got hired and has moved to Hood River. Way to persevere bro! looking forward to seeing your innovations some day! and what Slingshot Sports are doing!.
See you in July!

Thanks for the shoutout Nathan!! It has been a long 5+ months of contracting, couch surfing, and not knowing whats next, but the hard work and sacrifice finally paid off. I started this past Monday as a design engineer for Slingshot Sports where I hope to advance the innovation and quality Slingshot is known for.

Growing up sailing, wakeboarding, and swimming; water has always been a major influence in my life. When choosing a field of study I wanted to learn as much as possible about fluid mechanics and eventually become a designer in a related field. During my studies I also pursed my passion for water sports which resulted in several injuries but my love for riding kept me in it. When I transfered to Minneapolis for engineering school I didn't know anyone with a boat, therefore I was constantly looking for alternative ways to ride my wakeboard. I ended up building a winch out of a home depot shopping cart to pull myself across some gnarly parts of the Mississippi. I also picked up kiting as another alternative form of pull. I took a lesson with Lakawa who taught me the fundamentals of snowkiting and how to control my craziness. Thanks Lakawa!

Since then Nathan Borer has been my kite Sensei. Nathan helped me go from a beginner/semi sufficient kiter to an advanced kite ninja and has become a lifetime friend along the way. The crazy chain of events that happened after I quit my desk job, and led to my new position at slingshot would not have happened without your help and support. Thanks brotha!! Also, Laura Mahar has been a great friend and colleague as well; thanks for teaching all the valuable kite skills and helping me survived SPI, hahh. I'm definitely stoked to be part of the team. A designer for a kite/wake company isn't the typical path for an engineer but slingshot has given me the opportunity to use my skill set in a creative way which coincides with my passion! Thanks Slingy, and MN kite crew for the help and support!! I hope to visit MN this summer and hope to see everyone at the beach!!

Cheers,

Chris Boyle

Thanks Mike!! It all started that one crazy day on the snow at White Bear, where i thought cruisin toeside was the best way to tack. When do you head to SPI?

In SPI now til 18th. Sun burned and worn out, happy tired like when I was a kid out playing all day.

I recall your lesson. Chad and I had a similar "ahaa" moment on your first tack: "he needs to develop riding switch!" You have excelled quickly.

Keep us the little people in mind with your new gig.

Cheers
