Demo's?

Post by magicninja »

I'm shopping around for a new kite and was wondering where any Rep's are going to be out on Friday/Saturday. I would like to demo a few kites if possible, I'm dialed and currently flying a 9m SS T3. I also have a 17m Best Waroo that hasn't been used in a while that someone can check out and fly if they want.
Sounds like Waconia's the place to be on Saturday, so I'll probably head that way.
Friday maybe Lake Calhoun or WBL?
If anyone is able or wants to rent out a 5-7m kite for Saturday I'd appreciate it. let me know what you have. Thanks George.

Demo's are a great idea. I'll be out on Waconia with an 8 meter Havoc 2009, that I have for sale. It should be great conditions for that kite, as I have found it fly's a bit small and needs more wind than you would expect to really power up.

We should get some GPS units out there and pass them around. It will be a great day for some speed runs. Have a bit of a competition to see who can hit the fastest top speed. Who has a GPS we can add to the pool? I do not unfortunately, but I will give a 6 pack of home brewed porter to the winner. Should be a fun time on the lake. Hope to see everyone there.

I agree with Eric, demos are the best way to understand the different options out there. There is a list of Advisors in the Knowledge section of this site that are essentially local Team riders who offer their assistance in helping other riders understand the kites that their sponsors offer. It's a great resource for those sorting through the options.

I ride for Slingshot and can help you understand their new line up. I currently don't have more than my own personal quiver of Rallys, which I'd be more than willing to let you demo. If you are interested in other kites within their line up, let me know and I'll do what I can to find another Team rider to hook you up with.

Try as many kites as you can. Back to back in the same conditions preferably. Also see if you can hook up a decent length demo. All kites fly a bit different and some adjustments to your ride might be needed to get the most out of each kite.

Not sure if I'm heading to Waconia on Saturday, but leaning that way for sure. If I'm there and you want to check out the Rallys track me down (white Toyota with box on top/ orange and green kites)

I might be on Waconia on Saturday and you're welcome to try my 8.5 RPM. I might be on Calhoun tomorrow with my 13m Fuel and you're welcome to try that too. The feel would be very different from the T3 though.

Thanks for all the positive feedback. That's what I love about this sport and
Lakawa specifically is the great community of people and riders.

I'll have to stay local today so I'll be hitting up Calhoun around noon. Hope to see you
out there Denis.
It's Waconia for sure Saturday, I'll look for you Eric and Tighe.
I think your 14,15m might be to big yet for my size Katie, although I've just
started to boost bigger and might change my mind once I dial those jumps in.

Saturday looks pretty wicked. May the wind gods smile on us all.
