Slingshot TURBINE

Post by Tighe »

Slingshot is bringing out a new light wind weapon called the Turbine in one size 17m. I think it's based a bit on the Rally DNA, though it appears not quite as swept back, and a bit flatter.
Not sure when it will be available, sometime this Spring. Talk to your retailer of choice and let them know you want one.

I've been flying the 12m Rally almost exclusively. Maybe a one kite snow quiver.

Me want.... Now...

Any idea how thick the LE of this bad boy is going to be? I thought that was kind of a challenge with the 17 TD3 - lots of drag, but I suppose you need it to be bigger to keep the structural integrity...

Good one, Geoff  Nice to see more attention focused on the bigger kites. The Turbine looks like a big Rally. I expect it to be very light, which is a big deal in a 17m kite. Relaunch should be easy too. If the 14 Rally is any indication, the limitation of the 17 will be its top end. The 17 T3 can handle a fair amount of wind, and the extra struts help with stability. The other thing is that it will be difficult to get people to spend 2K+ on a light air specific kite. Would love to try one though.

... heard a rumor that Mr. X Rated Kiteboarding himself may show up with a Turbine at the crossing! We can put 'er up against my 20.5 Machine - just give me a 20 minute headstart to get it pumped up :P :P
