Ice Monkey Kiteboard

Post by Eric S »

Ahg! Why did I spend all my kitesurfing budget so quick. I should have got one of these boards. They are modular boards and come with wheels for summer use too. I also understand that there might be different board lengths and stiffnesses for particular applications. I thinkt he trucks are dynamite! Not just a MBS knock-off. They look beefier and more adjustable than the freeskate. You can even mount snowboard bindings on them for ice kiting and boosting small air. I think I would like to try a small sail on one.

Contact Keith at mticesports.com email: Kmaxxed@aol.com with questions.

I think I'll be looking at one for the spring ice / landboarding. Check out some pictures:

The guy is selling a few at a reduced rate to get the word out. If we don't get heaps of snow soon this would be a great board to have. Also will work as a summer board with wheels:

If anyone gets one, send me a line. I'll pay a small fee to ride it for a day.

Eric. You should talk to Judd Nelson and Mike Martindale, they were building a board, very similar. Only difference is they were putting a windsurfer sail on it. I'm sure they still have one you could try.

I hope to try one of these next week. The thing I don't get is, if you slant the deck to windward aren't you then turning? So if you want to go straight you have to keep the deck level? That'd be pretty difficult in snowboard boots while leaning off the side. If the deck angle does not effect the turning, then how do you turn it?

Should be an interesting beast to try out. If I get ahold of it, anyone will be able to check it out. Could be THE vehicle of choice for the winter of 2002!
