T3 problems

Post by cjb »

I have a 14m T3, that I have had for several years. I am having trouble with it back stallling and the wing tips folding in when I power it up. The only thing I have done to the kite lately is change the lines and I am wondering if I might have messed it up. The only thing I can think I may have screwed up is the CSS. Could that cause this problem or does this sound like a bridel issue? I haven't touched the bridel, but I am wondering if it may need to be replaced.
Thanks for your help.

What set of lines did you get? There are some discrepancies on slingshot's website as to which set of lines work on a full stroke bar. The folks at Windance in the gorge even sent the wrong ones out to me the first time. They made everything right eventually but I was down a bar for a little bit.

That might be my problem. I took the lines off one of my RPM bars that I wasn't using. I didn't even think that they might not be the same length.
Thanks!

Yeah that is your problem. An easy check is to take a short piece of line and feed it through the ends of the lines (the loop that attaches to the pigtails) and then tie that line to something soiid ( a tree, a trailer hitch, etc). Unwind your lines if you haven't already and pull on your bar. All four lines should be equal with the adjustment strap all the way out and your chicken loop against the bar. The RPM, FUEL, REV, OCTANE, and RALLY, the KEY all use the lines, but since the T3 has pulleys on the bar has different lines. I think they are shorter over all as well...23m maybe.
