Today - Wednesday?

The wind looks perfect. Where's everyone at? North end of Turtle? Lochness? I'm going to dig out my stuff.

It was a bit gusty out there at times. The airports were seeing gusts in the mid 20s to almost 30 mph. Also, the snow on Turtle was really grippy. I kept catching the nose of my snowboard and getting thrown for a whirl. In the end, it was of course a great session!

Great shots Barry. Looks like some nice conditions.

I joined Randy and Jenn up on WBL a bit later in the afternoon. Missed the sun but the snow was soft and the wind was nice.

More on Saturday...:::)))))

You're getting some great footage with that GoPro, Barry. Kool how the fisheye lense makes your skis look like a rocking chair. Medicine looks untracked. I managed to find some hard landing zones, and slush puddles on WBL. I hope this rain doesn't wreck the surface, but maybe the hard freeze on Sat. will stiffen it up.

Barry, Great shots!! Your image appears so much closer than mine. :? Where are you locating the camera? Trailing edge or are you using shorter lines? Keep up the great posts!

I have 24M lines and the camera is mounted it on the center strut near the leading edge.

Scroll to the end of http://www.lakawa.com/lakawa-chat-f1/sp ... 12945.html to see the mount I use.

A little bit of cropping makes a better photo. Here's one of the photos un-cropped (looks father away).

I do not have the current GoPro HD with the wide lens. Mine is the older GoPro 5. I the current HD camera is designed to be mounted close to the subject. If mounted on the kite strut I think you'd probably appear to be even father away. You can get a line mount for the HD camera that attaches it just above the trim strap that should work well. Both cameras produce 5 megapixel stills.

The bent skies on the jump picture is the result of a wind tremor that hit my kite just right and caused a small ripple to pass through the CMOS sensor as the picture was snapped. Look at the lines and the tracks on the snow - the entire picture is warped with a couple of waves. But I liked it anyhow.

Cool pics Barry. Mind if I play with any of them for the front rotator home-page images?

Sure. Use them any way you'd like.

Sad to see the snow getting hammered today.

I ran lessons down in Faribault. Cannon was mediocre. Driving past Medicine on the way down it looked like a watery mess. Cannon got slushy as the day went on. It was spared the rain we got but the warmth and misty conditions did it in as the day went on. We ended up near Maple Lawn Park where the snow was super chunky. The winds were great. Up all day.

My gear is all drying now in the basement. Saturday will be interesting. Hope the temps dive deep enough.
