Swede, Washington or White Bear on Monday.....

Post by magicninja »

Forecast looks good for Monday 12/20. I'm going to ride 9am- early afternoon. How's the surface conditions on White Bear? I haven't been up there yet to check it out. How about Lake Swede or Washington by Darwin. I rode swede the day before the big storm and it was the shiznits. Any recent first hand accounts of conditions for these areas would be great, I'm just looking for a good base so I don't tear up my new skis too bad. Thanks guys. Geo

I rode Washington Sat. on best untracked snow conditions ever ridden. Geez that was fun & hogged it. :)

Right on! Washington it is then. Looks like the launch at Dassel rod and Gun club would be good for ESE winds. I've never been there, do you need a parking pass for winter? Thanks for the info Jerry.

Last Sunday, Saul and I went to WBL and the conditions were excellent. I think I have never seen that much snow on that lake. Tomorrow should be good at Ramsey on WBL ;)

Here are a few shots from last Sunday, check out the snow...

Max Sunday was AWESOME!!!
The west side of WBL snow pack still seems pretty good. There is some slush, but the areas that didn't get tracked up seem to be good, although I only checked out a limited area. This WBL launch may also work out for tomorrow. We should be able to park on Clark and there is a set of Green stairs down to the lake. It's a tiny beach so it doesn't work in the summer but it does get you on the ice in the winter.

was there a lot of overflow on white Bear?
Forest Lake, has a fare amount. Makes the board hard to ride, with 10 or so pounds of ice frozen to it.

Good session at Bellaire/white bear yesterday. Rode till my legs felt like wet spaghetti. Snow cover was good, new snow filling in the tracked areas. How was Calhoun last night? did the new snow fall fill in any ruts? Well have a good day guys and gals. ride on. G

Calhoun is good. I rode till dark. Boosting in almost zero visibility with Calhouns gusty wind was interesting. I'm pretty sure I was the only one out there.
