Coach,

We so deeply feel you in us. Your presence was profound at the Square Sunday night as a number of your long time friends held one another with you in our hearts, sending our love and intention to your healing. You were also felt on Lake Superior yesterday. Your spirit seemed to carry everyone to new levels of experience.

So grateful for the family keeping us posted through CaringBridges. We pray for reduced swelling so surgeries can again proceed and join you in the depths of 'I don't know land'. This living is such a precious thing.
Ride...just be it!

Jodie and I are sending many positive thoughts and prayers to you. Is there an address where we can send cards to him?

I only met him in person once when I was first looking at getting into kiteboarding and he was incredibly positive and energetic about it. Plus he took the time to answer all my questions too.

I remember seeing photos and videos of him going huge all the time and just thought, WOW.

Hang in there Coach! I know you will tough this one out.

One of my favorite memories of Coach was from 10 or 12 years ago at the Crossing. I was especially dialed in that year with a really fast slalom board and nice race sails. Plus I had been windsurfing a ton that summer as it was pre marriage and kids  I was pretty sure no one could touch me speedwise on that kit. Pre race the wind was marginal planing conditions. I waited until the last minute to decide whether to go on the slalom gear and risk an 18 mile shlog or go on the large white Rhino Chaser. Hmm, tough call…

I looked out and watched Coach shloging around on his slalom gear knowing he would be one of the top guys to beat. Seeing that, I opted to go on the big board. Big mistake! As coach won the race easily on his slalom kit. Rats! Afterwards I asked Coach why he did not go on his big board and he said, "I saw you watching me from shore and knew what you were thinking. So I purposely shloged around knowing I would be able to keep my slalom board planing during the race." D'oh! We have shared a laugh about his 'Rope-a-dope' of me several times over the years.

Hang in there Coach!
