Ottertail on Sunday

Post by efjanssen »

Sunday is looking warm and windy. I should be at our cabin on the north side if anyone is in the area.

From my house in Edina 3 hrs - 180 miles. 94 west past Alexandria to hwy 78 north (Ashby exit) thru Battle Lake to Cnty Rd #1 west (north end of Ottertail lake) four miles on your left, red fire #108 - Lathams. Feel free to come up Saturday evening (I wont be there until 6:00) and pitch a tent. Big back yard and facilities.

Unfortunately something has come up family-wise and I am not going to make the fun to OT (not happy). I hope this does not throw off anyone's plans. If you are still heading that direction, feel free to launch from our yard.

Hey ED

Thanks, so much for opening up your yard and cabin for the caravan of crazed, desperate wind staved, kite board addicts. I think we were on the verge of serious withdrawal. not to mention any names but I saw people driving with some abandon in an effort to get there wind fix. Never before have I seen kites and boards go from car to water so fast.( thanks to your compressor in part).

starting at about 16mph with a nice slow increase all afternoon. in the end we were fully lit on our 13m Octaines, just having a riot out there.

you my friend, saved the weekend for a lot of us, we are in your debt.

Here is a few shots I took of the day and I know Jenn has plenty more to post.
Thanks again ED

It's hard to believe we drove 87 miles in 15 minutes

Warm and windy - it doesn't get any better than that. Kites were still in the air as the sun was setting.

The highlight had to be FJ Cruiser blowin' thru Wadena like a tornado!

Thanks Pete!

Ed and gang- I have a few more pics to post. Sorry I didn't get shots of everyone. I should have let you know to come closer to me in the water. I had a really wide angle lens. I hope to see you on the lake again soon and I'll make sure to get more photos next time!

I think I left my helmet up there. Did anyone happen to find a black helmet with some stickers on it?
