Northern Lights Express

I have been trying to promote the proposed Northern Lights Express train service to the climbing community as a great way to access the climbing in Sandstone and Duluth and realized kiters would benefit too.

Imagine hopping on a train in Minneapolis with kite and board in hand to head to Duluth for a day of kiting. You could sleeping or work on the trip to Duluth. Then kite all day and ride the train back. Did I mention the train will have WIFI so you could post to everyone in LAKAWA how psyched you are to get to kite in less than 2 hours. I believe the Duluth depot is almost walking distance from park point too.

That sounds super! Were you talking about gathering letters or something to get this going? If needed, how to etc.?

The city admin from Sandstone wanted me to get some letters from climbers on how the train would benifit them. He was going to present them at the NLX open house in Sandstone Thursday. There is a supporter link on the NLX web site that people can use to show their support.

That sounds cool. While we're at it, maybe they could extend the North Star line out to Malmo?
