Camping on or near Lake Minnetonka??

Post by Tim S. »

Hey all you locals. We're heading north from Madison for a sailboat regatta on Lake Minnetonka on July 8-11. As we are a budget program I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good campsite close to or on the lake.

If you are around that weekend and there is not enough wind to kite come check out some sailboat racing. There are currently 47 E Scows (28' flat bottom boats) signed up for the event.

Thanks!!

Three Rivers Parks has a couple campgrounds in the west metro, which are probably packed this weekend.

The nearest campgrounds are Baker Park Reserve Campground and Lake Auburn Campground at Carver Park Reserve.

Maybe sleep on your boat.

Yes, E scows are great fun and fast! This should be a great regatta. My boat is Cosmic Voyager; M-1. See you out there.
