Beartooth Pass Snowpack?

Post by Pat Hinch »

Mike - How was your snowkiting trip?
I'm heading out next Thursday and plan on kiting the Pass next weekend.
How is the snowpack up there?

Pat -

When I arrived on Sunday the snowpack was 3-6 feet of perfect corn at the Chain Lakes area on the Wyoming side of the pass. The warm sunny weather and the rain on Tuesday evening and most all of Wednesday really put a dent in the snowpack in that area. It may be better up on top. Especially if they got some snow instead of rain at the top. It may be worth a try - I bet you find some decent riding up high.

I had 3 good days last week. Warm, sunny, good corn and good wind at times. The trout fishing was even better. Biggest Rainbow of my life near Cody. And, the Griz were out and about in the Lamar Valley.

Have fun up there!
