I am looking for my first water session this year. I am thinking of Ready Creek for Tuesday and White Bear or Waconia for Wendesday. I finally got my drysuit Aquasealed back into shape.
Anyone else not in Padre and want to play? We might have to kite around some rain...
If it's SE on tuesday I'm thinking about WBL. I love the big beach at Ramsey...and I'm getting used to the eastsiders . Probably can't get out until the afternoon though.
What are the best options for a SE on the West side? I could probably drift launch from Waconia, but then I would have to do a down winder to find the good wind. How is Washington? Has anyone ever launched out of the park in Mound on Cooks Bay? It might be possible in the early season, and I've scooped it a few times. Wind looks decent there on the SE.
I wish I could make the drive over to White Bear, but it is not feasible to drive an hour after work through rush hour, just to kite for 30 minutes before the sun sets. I'm set on trying something on the West side, but where?
Wish I could make Ramsey today - should be great. I am thinking of taking tomorrow off and going to Reddy if it looks good in the am. Anyone in for that?
If your going further West - say to Buffalo, there is a nice launch area at a park on Buffalo lake just past the boat launch area. Parking in a big open gravel lot, walk down the hill to the lake to find a large grass rigging area. works for most anything with East in it, it can be tough to get out when its direct on shore as you have to clear some shoreline trees with the kite.
