hey everyone. i finally have some photos posted from the umd expo and the crossing. not too much wind, so nothing spectacular photo-wise but there are a few good ones (and funny ones) in there of crazy legs, the ever graceful mike b, and general hanging out on the ice.

Awesome Shots! You really caught the great vibe we had going at the crossing (even without a lot of wind)!

Great pictures, what kind of camera are you using? Im looking forward to getting together with someone at these events and be able to talk a little photo jargon and share techniques. Were you using a polarizing filter?

Re: Photos from the UMD Expo and the Crossing
thanks guys!
hey kyle. i don't use any filters generally. right now i have a sort-of working Canon 40D. it's in pretty rough shape. sometimes i rent either a 50d or nikon d300. i'll have a new camera soon though. i shoot a lot of bands and live music and some of my music friends have put together a benefit concert for me next friday at the turf club, so that i can get a new camera. it's a pretty amazing thing and really flattering and a little strange sounding i suppose. anyway, i'm hoping to get a nikon d300 either new or used. it will depend on if the show sells out/how much money i have.
looking forward to seeing you out on the lake or at the next event and talking photography! are you going to padre?

Another nice composition Jen! Fun to see all the fun & faces tied in with the music. I'm glad the benefit is finally going off. You deserve to work with good gear. My shutterbug G F admires your work too. I hope she'll let me off the leash to attend.

Great pictures. The crossing was a ton of fun even without the wind. I really dig the pics of our campfire with the martinis!
