Calhoun conditions

Post by peternoren »

Some people were asking so I thought I would post. I was out there tonight and there was about as much glare ice as there was snow. With the ice as hard as it is from the cold, edging was pretty tough. I probably won't go back until we get more snow.

Other lakes might be different (I'm curious if any lake is good right now) but Calhoun is pretty patchy and rough.

Totally agree w/ above. I was on Calhoun today also. A lot of the snow has drifted off of the lake. Result = patches of choppy ice and patches of glare ice with an occasional snow drift oasis. Rough going. I wouldn't do it again. Let it snow!
