Lake Superior MODIS Imagery

Jeff,

Good kiting with you on Waconia today. Total mileage was 57.94 miles. Here's the website that has the sat images of the big lakes.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up,totally worn out and loudly proclaiming. WOW! What a ride!!

If you take a close look at the south west part of the lake you'll see where Ashland and Washburn are at. The bay in that area is frozen over and has snow cover. You cross reference google maps to see where the shore line is.

Here is another cool link for sat imagry. You can get daily shots of the whole contry.

Open the link in a different tab or window (doesn't work to well in the Lakawa window), Then click on the central area then go to 250M resolution to zoom in. Its a great site for fall and spring to watch the ice come and go on the lakes we love to ride.

Pete,

Have you been out to Ashland at all? I am thinking about heading up there with a friend.
