Local snow conditions

Post by BBAddict »

What's the post deep-freeze snow conditions? Does Waconia still have the best and deepest snow? Trying to decide if it's worth the drive up to Rice Lake for good wind and better snow or if the Wac is plenty good. Any info is much appreciated so I don't have to waste tomorrow driving around checking the snow!

Waconia was pretty sweet last week Thursday. The SE corner had the best untracked snow. Fine and fast upwind but a bit thinner. I think I only hit one hard patch all day.

Good snow up here! I'm taking thursday off and the wind looks great!

I'll be down in the cities on friday morning to drop katie off at the airport and then I'll have to decide to head back up to pelican (Ice Fest at breezy point :) thought it would be fun to kite around with that) or stay down in the cities and hit up some local lakes for the weekend.

Wac was good this morning other than limited vision. The snow drifts were starting to form by the time I left this morning

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up,totally worn out and loudly proclaiming. WOW! What a ride!!

Well, I ended up at WBL after driving out to Kite Island and being disappointed by all the bare ice. WBL has much better snow than Tonka--at least in the area around Kite Island.

Yup, ironically, the worst snow on the lake is around the island.
Anyone know what it's like on Mille Lacs? It looks like more wind north on Saturday.

Lake waconia or anything west of that got very little rain. The conditions are great I dont know how many times it needs to be said. We have so much snow you can find a field off of a gravel road and just go.
