Monday afternoon riding...

Post by scottchapman »

Well after a busy weekend. I am going to try to get out this afternoon.
I need to drive from Shoreview to Blaine to Mpls and arrive in Bloomington this morning. Looking to get out on Tonka this afternoon.
Anyone heading out?

Ripley 2pm. Great base and no tracks yet. Nice to have enough snow to keep the traffic off for awhile.

Just got back from WB. Crusty and icy but decent wind. Nicely powered on Neo 8M. A few other riders are still out there.

Med lake isn't good. slurry trapped on top of ice and below the snow.

glad i was on the board...i got to kitesurf at times when the surface would break. a lot of work though. deep freeze coming!

Just got done riding the farmers field right out my front door, the snow was realy wind packet and made for much easier riding then I had on the lake Sun. Kept breaking through the crusty stuff or hitting slush and wiping out on Sun. Today was just smooth sailing:)

Waconia was great. Parking lot swallowed a few people... 8) Not icy. Fast snow. On the 14 meter and fatty skis. Jeff, Tom, Sam and I rode til just before dark. Not rutted away from shore. Smooth 98 percent of the lake...the place to be on a NNW.

Beer and Apps. at Flyodd's then home...

Until next time...Felt good to feel the burn again...

The parking lot at the beach in waconia is plowed, where the north access is not. You will have to walk out a bit to get past the snowmobile tracks. Once out get between the north access and the beach and the snow is perfect.

Rode mille lacs yesterday on my way north. Strong, steady, NW wind at father hennipen. Wind packed powder that was fast and edgeable. I think waconia was a bit deeper on sunday though. Both good spots.

For those that were previously concerned about the albino population in the park, rest easy. I saw three of them amongst a group at a food stash. Old buck, doe, and fawn. Pretty cool. Kind of ironic that I packed a venison salami sandwich.
