Lakes good to go?

Post by shera »

Just wondering what lakes are good to go for Christmas? I am heading NW to the Monticello region tomorrow, is Lake Pulaski or Buffalo Lake frozen over? Rob, have you been out yet? How about the metro area....

Eager to get out and hope to see some smiling faces for Christmas!

My boss told me he saw trucks parking on lake buffalo last week already. I would think if you setup by shore you should be good ride the whole lake.

Yea, I was out on Buffalo lake with my family last sunday ice skating.
There was plenty of ice houses and 4 wheelers out there.
The ice was a good 8 in. so we were parked not to far out but on the lake (sould be good to go)

Side note: Lake Pulaski has natural springs and creates has very thin ice !Stay off!

I checked the ice on Wayzata bay and there is 7 inches and 4 wheelers running all over. Back in the day when I was a hardcore fisherman I drilled holes to fish in and there was 26 inches of ice and yet I moved to one other bay just in time to watch a truck go down in forty feet of water. The DNR said carp will circle in one area and that was there guess on why it went down. Safe ice yes there is some and you better hope your on it.

Please be safe....
