WildWood Wednesday

Post by Dave Z »

SPI - not there. Talk of Snowkiting - premature!

The forecast looks perfect for Wildwood tomorrow afternoon. NNW is the perfect direction! Anyone else thinking about it? I had my season closer there last year with ice forming on my kite as I rolled it up.

Will head over there in afternoon if it's decent. East siders :?:

Kiting on Thanksgiving morning/early afternoon sounds tempting, simply so I can have an interesting story to tell at Thanksgiving dinner. I'd have some interesting questions: "You did... what? Where?" "Don't you realize how cold it is out there?" "How could you go kiteboarding in 35 degree weather without freezing?" I'm sure I'd survive just fine, but at the expense of my family and friends thinking I'm completely nuts. :D

I'm not sure what I think about the idea of peeling off a wetsuit in 35 degree weather, though, so I'm not fully committed yet.

Dave, I am on the verge of a cold, but I might join you anyway. Mid afternoon looks best for wind.

I will be there if I amongst my gear I can find a kite without a significant rip with bladders that will hold air for more than 30 minutes and a bar with a set of lines that are not broken.

With the right equipment, it's never too cold:

Where was everyone? Shhhh. Let's tell Zimmerman were all gonna be there and not show up! It will be hilarious!

Got there at 3 and the wind came up enough for my 12M. Nothing great but it was not too cold and it's nice not having any docks to contend with down there. Happy T-giving. Gobble, gobble.

If it is still windy early in the morning, I might go out.

The next windy day won't be until Wednesday...but LOOK at it! Nuker!

But, COLD.

Sorry Dave, but I wasn't seeing enough wind to justify the trip. Glad you made it out though. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
