It's a wonder that there wasn't a local ban on jumping the pier--or maybe there was and they did it anyway!

Only YESTERDAY, was driving over the causeway bridge in South Padre saying " I'm sure people have thought about jumping this thing." Of course, the measly one in U.K. didn't have a freeway on it, so what is the big deal?

100' is a big jump when you have to clear ALL of it. Hard to believe the BBC would sort of condone that kinda thing.

Here's a video of the jump...

Jumping the pier is not banned, but they "urge people not to try it". Let's see how well that works out...

Hello Everyone,

Here is a link to a youtube video of this jump:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQMzlwej4Tc

I would think the local police or the owner of the Worthing Pier would discourage this kind of activity.

Will an unqualified kiter attempt to repeat this jump; then have a serious injury or be killed?

This would be bad publicity for all wind sports.

Still a pretty cool jump though.....

Just my opinion.

Thanks everyone.
