Cannon on Thursday

Post by Pete »

You know it's good when you can smell the manure in the air. In this respect Cannon was, shall we say, "Excrement" yesterday. Powered up on 5.7 all day!

Great session indeed (apart from the smell...). Nice to meet you Pete.

I got down there a bit after the peak wind with just my small gear. I rigged up and got a mostly under powered session. Then Pete let me borrow his Mistral Explosion & 5.7 which fit the conditions perfectly. Session saved! I owned one of these boards about 10 years ago and it felt great, just like putting on a long lost shoe. Even though it is a bigger board, it absorbed the chop much better than my modern epoxy/ carbon boards. Old school rules? :?

Thank you Pete!

Pete has similarly generously loaned me the same rig (and others) when I've showed up and didn't feel like kiting. In chop, the old windsurfing gear does rock as compared to the new!

Thanks, Pete.
