Cameras

Post by monkey1031 »

I just ordered one of the new GoPro HD cameras...

My old panasonic DV was great, but the damn thing is just too heavy.

I'll let you know what I think of it when it ships (2 week backorder).

So they are selling them now? Great! I definitely look forward to your reviews.

Also, a friend of mine pointed out this camera too which seems very similar to the GoProHD:

They both look like really good cameras.

HD or not, Nate that's a sweet video. Have you tried attaching it to the top of your mast looking down?

More pixels won't add to that video. You reminded me of the times back there when I got a gust on a flat lake before the white caps appeared. I even remember yelling like you did. Thanks.

Tighe,
I have not yet gotten the chance to mount the camera atop my mast. I want to really bad! But my only problem is my sails from 5.7 down are the only ones I can do that on since they have an open luff tip. When I get a chance, you will know!!! :D

Paul,
It's good to know I am not the only one out there screaming to myself!! All you can do when you are ripping in no wind is yell! I love that feeling. It is like bliss and serenity all together giving an amazingly peaceful and yet blood pumping run. My favorite feeling. Very similar to skydiving. A M A Z I N G ! ! !

Only if more people knew the real reasons why we all do what we do.

That is neat!!! I have never mounted mine smack dab on my clue, but close to the back. With a bigger sail and a deep luff it may not work as well, but I will try that. I will have 2 more perspectives up around noon today.

Got it today.

Video inside the house look "yellowed" out... I'd give you a review, but I want to get some footage in nice sunlight, outdoors. I don't think my couch or the inside of my fridge are quite what gopro had in mind.

I got a GoPro HD on ebay yesterday. Then I found a cool mount for it here.

I have one of these...looks very well made. Haven't had a chance to try it yet but as soon as the ice is safe, I'll do so and post a video of it!

where the hell does that thing mount on the lines? I'm trying to figure out how to mount it up high, on the lines, near the kite. That thing looks like it's going to sit somewhere just above the bar.

I just have a sneaking suspicion there will be a ton of funny videos this year.

goproHD - Have any of you edited with the HD? Nate, what are you using to edit on your standard def model?

Final cut is BOGGED down... I'm off to buy some more RAM.
