NWS is saying WEST! Both my kids have H1N1 at the moment so I figure by Saturday I'll probably be down for the count

If not I may have to make a little visit to Byllesby with those isobars!

If the Exptl. shows wind on the River ~ screw Byllesby ~ and head to Pepin WI for some larger terrain!

Malmo works, but it will be colder. With a chance of snow too, Pepin will be warmer air temp and water temp.

Guess what happens on Pepin when the wind blows hard out of the west? School Busses start rolling down the lake! 8)
This action may take place on Friday!

Hey Pete.
What happens at Pepin if the wind is bouncing around between SW and W?

Do you get a swirley mess or do the bluffs just guide it if it's close enough?

Last Sat I posted that we'd get wind Tuesday and Saturday. Yesterday was a nice sunny windy treat at WB.
Now it looks like it's going to blow good Thursday and Friday and by Saturday that big Low is going to rapidly go way up into Canada and take the strong winds with it. So get out the next two days if you can. Next week looks like milder weather (ie in Nov maybe we'll get Oct weather because Oct has been so crappy).

Dave, to answer you question...if it is blowing out of the SW Pepin WI is NOT the place to be, I believe. Never tried that direction. WNW yes but not SW fluctuating to W. I believe Cannon may be the call for big ramps on Friday, or Byllesby if it is steady WSW. Do you have a hall pass for Friday?

Nate,

Waconia is great on SW, W or NW. Hope to see you there!

There's a good chance I will be able to get out.

I haven't worked Fridays for almost a year now but somehow never get to play in the wind. This time the only thing that could stop me is if I have to stay home with my daughter for reason.

Malmo anyone? Nice launch space, not crowded, smoother winds...
