Repost: PASA insurance question

Can somebody look into the validity of the PASA insurance? For example, what constitutes a denial of claim? Why are you required to sign a waiver releasing everyone (including boaters, spectators, other kiters, etc) from liability? Has anyone actually used it before?

Here is a link to the PASA insurance description (read the downloadable waiver):

I believe the PASA insurance for members is a general liability insurance protecting you for anything happening to others while you are kiting. The description of policy should have accompanied the waiver. Fleet 8 carries event insurance through a subsidiary of First Flight and waivers tend to be emphasized. I will research the policy further in the morning and post any clarification I find.

Mike is correct; the PASA policy is a general liability policy that provides personal liability insurance to PASA Certified Recreational kiters (water, snow & power).

The insurance provider is First Flight Insurance Group in North Carolina. First Flight's other clients include The US Hang Gliding & Paragliding Assoc., NAUI and IKO.

The waiver put forth by First Flight is similar to the waiver signed by USHPA members who carry that assocation's personal liability insurance.

There has yet to be a claim made on the Personal Liability Insurance through PASA, however, claims made on the Commercial Liability Insurance provided to PASA schools & instructors by First Flight have been dealt with in a supportive and professional manner by First Flight.
