Does anyone know of any local lakes that are kiteable yet? If not around here what other lakes are frozen enough to get on? I'm itching to try my new 8m Fuel, last years model, out this this year yet, the only thing I have until the snow flies are ice skates.

White Bear is still open, but I would not recommend kiting in water now.

There are loose chunks of ice floating all over the place. This makes for very dangerous kiting or sailing. The low sun can be blinding too, which can make it very tough to see what lies ahead.

Sweed is definately kitable, though there is no snow. Alex and Matt were on skates and Joe and Dave were on skis. It might be a bit rough after yesterday. This week looks cooler than had been anticipated so we should see some continued freezing, which is good, then hopefully more snow soon. The ice will get thicker faster without the snow to insulate it...that sounds funny...snow insulating.
