Laurel Eastman is seriously thinking about coming to SPI with us in November. She is thinking of opening a shop there. Does anyone have any information that would help her for researching this?
I think it would be great for her to have a shop there - is there a lot of competition? Guess I'm looking for some feedback to convince her it's a good idea.

I assume you mean kite shop. There are 4 kite shops on the island between them covering all the major kite brands (Naish, Cabrihna, Slingshot, North, Best, Liquid Force, maybe Ozone? Don't remember). Lessons are big business, from what I'm told they're always booked out like crazy.

Air padre are going to be building a bigger store, I think they'll be selling their current store, great spot and kiters are used to shopping there.

Brenda who owns SPI Kitesurfing on Padre Blvd has been looking to sell her kite shop. Why don't you have Laurel contact Brenda to see what she can work out? I spend a month in both spring and fall in SPI. Quite honestly I don't see the need for yet another kite shop in town.

I have heard they are looking for a rare, collectible and out-of-print book store in Padre. He hee ..
