I am going to be waiting for the bigger waves tward the end of the afternoon. I was planning to go to the cities on monday to pick up a $300 sheet of teek plywood but that might have to hold off till tuesday... if the forecast holds. I need a good 5 foot forecast to get me to delay finishing the boat... and kite trip to the apostle islands

Cold, Rainy, windy.
Might even make the water seem warmer than the air.
Perfect.

nice boat Jon! just checked and the forecast for Sunday is east wind. Do you think that's right? Will east wind work? I'm thinking about coming up.

it looks like it will be good
jeff you must be looking at a land based frecast.. this one factors in the lake effect direction switch http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.ph ... it=0&lg=en

Kiters... go to 22nd st/firehouse. if you're riding tward WI and you see a lifegaurd stand turn arround... it's about 2-3 miles down the shore.

Got up here around 4:30 and had some great 6M riding. Just finished a wonderful meal with Diego and Geoff, both kiting a 9M and 11M. Good to see Stroh again. It was a bit onshore. Brian showed up late and had his first session out this year on a 12M. After a broken foot recovery, he still looks as smooth as ever. Judd and Dave Wienke are sailing a boat from the Apostles to Superior tomorrow. For them, I'm glad to see Monday's forecast downgraded a little. Still, I'm hoping to wake to a shakin' van tomorrow and precip that will hold off. This lake is just so frickin' beautiful. Not sure who else was out. Chris, I was looking for you. Hopefully you got some of it early, but better, I hope you got the day off tomorrow. It always seems to turn up a notch when you get on the water. Hoping there's enough wind for you, Chip.

We had a gig tonight and I took a sub for it. I guess I now know where my priorities are. When Mother calls it pretty hard to not oblige the wind, waves, and glorious water. It's all surprise...who knows what to tomorrow will bring...but for sure, I'm about to settle down to some wonderful dreams of maneuvering some awesome terrain. If it happens, hoping to see others up here if you can.
Ride...just be it!

7 AM, and I just passed Randy headed down to the beach. Without checking, it feels like the wind is close to 40 this morning.... He should have a great session. Hope he doesn't end up out there by himself all day! Chris, you up to it? I might be able to sneek out for a few tacks but not until lunch.
