Cannon Lake Delivered!

Post by baskinT »

Woah... I am all smiles :D and tired from a great day riding at the Canon Lake. After a miserable run at the WBL - Ramsey on the "Wednesday" (not last, the one before) on SW/S, I was way ready to try some new location. As you may already know, the island messes up the SW winds at White Bear, Mahtomedi should be the choice if WBL is the only option. The other problem is the shallow reefs. It really limits the riding area. It was a struggle on that day two weeks ago.

After talking to Steve Erickson, I was very convinced that Canon Lake was the place to go. With the trailer in the back, took us (me & baxter) about 1 hr 20 mins to get there from my house. Great location, good crowd. Nice to meet Pete, Jack, Doug and Eric. Very friendly folk. Rigged my 6.7 m2 with 115 lts Mistral Syncro, was totally dialed in the first hour, then second hour, it was getting to be too much. Then came down to 5.9 which was perfect for another 45 mins. Also came down the fin size as well.

All and all, two days of riding. No complaints here! Hope everyone enjoyed this windy weekend. Until next weekend, now ready for work tomorrow. I have cleaned out a lot of winter dust this weekend and getting ready for my third Gorge trip on July 16. Great practice runs so far this year...
