FYI Here is your chance to get a quick, free screening for skin cancer. May 4th 2009 is Melanoma Monday at the U of M. See the attached link for more info. I'm not affiliated with the U of M but I have gone to this screening for many years. About 6 years ago they found a pre cancerous spot on my back. I was lucky to find it early and have it removed.

Re: Free Skin Cancer Screening at U of M
thanks for posting this every year Don.
VERY important and Free. I go each year.
I highly recommend everyone go to this, or get checked out at least yearly some other way. We are at high risk

This is a great chance to get checked out.
I have been going to in for body checks for the past 10 years. Each time they would freeze spots, very ease, and it would be gone in a week or so. In March I went to a Dermatologist. I had not been in for about 2 years. The Doctor said I had many precanerous spots (AK lesions) and many more that you can't see. She recomended a Carac treatment, which I did. You cover treatment area with a cream for 3 weeks. It slowly atttacts the abnormal cells and kills them. I had plenty and my entire face looked like I took a raditor cap of a car when it was hot and burned me taking the skin off. I now have stoped the treatment about 10 days ago and I am almost back to normal. I had to stay out of the sun, missing the 3 big wind days this past week, but should be back on the water this next week. My skin looks way different, still very red like a sun burn. I recomend this if others are out there if there Doctor says it is an option. Do it in the winter though!!!!! If any body wants to talk to me about the treatment feel free to contact me. I sail mostly at Waconia.
