ust got back from cross country skiing on Phelps Bay Lake Minnetonka. It was surprisingly good. Lite dusting of snow glued firm to ice. Some bar spots but enough snow left that I could skate on my cross country skiis and hold an edge. It was very fast and I could glide for a long ways after skating up to speed. If we had wind it would have been a great snow kite day. Tommorow looks marginal. Let's hope it out performes the forecast.

I kited Lake Calhoun today Sunday 3/8. It was excellent on skiis. About 70% coverage, very fast.

I DN ice boated Lake Pepin on Saturday 3/6. It was grade 7 of 10 ice, some shelling, no big deal. Overall in great shape. Did a rip from Pepin to Lake City and back. Sailed 5 hours and 60+ miles.

22" on that lake remain as of March 8 - I'm told 8" in the channel so be aware. Few hazards otherwise.
