SNOW!!!!

Post by BizzMarkie »

Well it has been a while since i have even been able to read the posts out here.

Not sure which one I read last but they suggested song and a smokin circle.
Now i cant attest to being spiritual and all but i must say those ideas has brought a fresh 3 in here in the city.

It looks like the mother is not only going to give us snow but wind also.

Where be the party at?????

I need a long session before leaving for Utah next weekend. Will try Calhoun late morning. I might be up for Padre in early May also, but a friend is planning on going to the Florida Gulf side around the same time and might have room for more. I'll be flying the orange and blue Frenzy 12.

Tonka report:

Couldn't believe how much we received so I had to measure. 5" in the driveway and 5 ¾ on the lake!! There was no adhesion on the lake so you won't be able to load and pop at 100%. But it is nice snow with some heavier stuff on the bottom & lighter stuff on top. Should make for some nice riding out at the island today.

4" in my front yard in St. Paul.
Maybe It'll have to be the Island instead of the Bear.
Ok for a North wind there?

NW is fine unless it clocks NNW, then it can get a lttle dirty off of Ferndale, then you need to sail out a bit, no biggie. Maybe I got a little microburst in my area. Maybe Tom Latcham can report from Phelps.

Have about 4" in my driveway this morning. Lot better than the 1" forecast.

I'll be out on the main part of Balsam Lake as soon as the wind picks up. Checked it last night and there was only patches of snow in between the glare ice.

I am thrilled with the snow:
Have not had a chance to ride yet. Just got breakfast and shoveling done. About five inches. Should be sweet. NW wind makes for some nice long distance kiting on upper lake. Think I may just ride upper lake today. I don't like the pressure ridge at wayzata access. My car has wide tires and low profile. Don't want to get hung up. What is a good alternate access for kite island?

Coming from the west on 12, how does one find Kite Island? Not familiar with the lake area.

Hi Peter:
Thanks for info on freak skate.
Take the 101 central av exit off 12. Take a right at top of ramp on to central. Take a right at 1st light Wayzata blvd. get into left lane and go left at y and down hill on Superior. Then turn right on Lake st. Go straight through light by Sunsets. The next street you can take a left on I think it is Grove or Bury take a left and cross rail road tracks wind to right and then take a left past buildings down on to the lake. Staight out at mouth of wayzata bay into main lower lake is Kite island. Look for kites in the sky. I think I am going to be out their by 1:30 - 2:00pm.
