Saturday 1-31

Post by scottman »

looks like a warm front coming through, 32 for Saturdays temp and 13mph, ususally when a heat wave comes through it's 5mph higher than projected, where is everyone going Saturday, what are the best conditions on what lake? Lately every lake I have been to has been no open ice but hard and crusty, I have all day Saturday and wind is going to be blowing and it's going to be warm what more could I ask for!!!!!

Last Sunday Washington had good snow conditions. I'll probably ride there. Hope everyone gets some :)

Jerry, is the snow better on lake Washington or Pleasant? The wind direction should be good for both, I'll go to either.

I'm thinking of heading west as well. Post where the best conditions are please. Jim said it was pretty sweet at Pleasant last week.

I was on Pepin a couple of nights ago and the snow was beautiful. I'll be riding out of the town of Pepin tomorrow late morning if the wind is from the SW. Right now the wind is from the SE...if it stays from the SE then it'll be the MN side.

Dave: The snow is better on Washington. With the SW wind the conditions will be good. Peter and I were out today riding in soft/compacted top snow of 4". Most of the better conditions are going to be in the northern shores & bays on both sides of the Sportsman park. Out in middle there are compacted hard drifts. Should be fun tomorrow(Sat) :)

I'm planning on kiting the St. Croix Sat. It's not all tracked and rutted up like White Bear. I've been setting up off my parent's beach about a mile north of the Afton marina on the MN side. A SW wind should be pretty parallel to shore. If it switches more west, then the cove on the WI side would work best. Anyone care to join me? Craig 651-261-3196
