hey i wanna get out and take another windy sesh on Da bear, whos riding there this weekend? i will be at Rice Lake Friday afternoon-Travis come on out dude. i havent ridden with you yet!!

yeah its my home lake you just gotta stay away from the side with the golf course and the 2 little creeks that funnel into it. launching from the main beach would be the best option.

huh, we'll have to check it out sometime. I've always wanted to but didn't know anyone kited out there and didn't trust it w/the creeks running through. I'm about a mile away from the beach...very convenient for us.

I should be out on white bear tomorrow.

yeah i havnt actually kited it yet but i have xc skied around it and it seems pretty safe im planning to kite there tommoro with my dad and graham either that or white bear haha

What's the story on Pleasant Lake? It's smack dab in the middle of North Oaks, which I do not live in and is a "gated" community. I assumed they would call the cops if I tried to kite there. Can I get some feedback here? It looks slightly large than Turtle and might work better on certain wind directions. Also, where are the accesses? Do I need to know someone who lives on the inside???

i don't have the north oaks sticker on my car and i park there several times a week in the summer and i have never been questioned. I don't think they are as stricked as they used to be.

Turtle lake works just fine for W, N and NW winds. I was there last sunday on a light wind-day and Travis and I ( nice to meet you Travis) had the whole lake for ourselves. Except for a few bare spots, that lake is not as tracked by snowmobiles or by cars as many of the big ones out there. I drove to the middle of it and kitted just off of my car. It was sweet!.
I will be there after work tomorrow.

yeah its suppose to be a gated community but its a city water shed lake in a private community which technically makes it public i have no idea what a cop would even say for being on the lake kiting i always see people on it and around the trail that dont live in north oaks i have seen the U of M womens xc team running around it that was a good sight http://www.lakawa.com/phpBB/posting.php ... =1&t=10367# haha me and my dad are heading out there around 2 tommoro from the main beach anyone is welcome to join. there are just some dangerous areas on the lake with thin ice that id recommend checking out before most of the south side is thin

Log's, the beach is on the N side of the lake and will not have as much wind. Let's just go over to Turtle with the NW wind and meet some other kiters. That's our plan and we will be out sometime b4 3 Friday.
