This is a huge bummer! Has anyone looked into the cost of renting or buying a snow maker? With this global weather confusion, maybe we need to be mother nature!

I just returned from the Northern Latitudes. I traveled to Hinckley & then over to Sandstone which is directly East of Mille Lacs. They had already gotten 8 to 10" & it was still falling as of 3 p.m. Local weather predicted 10 to 14" ttl.
The roads & visibility were still too crappy to drive to Milly & ride, so I'm back home. Several of the MNKITING crew were talking Milly on New Years Day. I'm jonesing for pickled herring from the Carlsona Salad Bar, a schooner of Red Hook, with a side of waffle fries! :P I'm stuck in town Fri & Sat, but it looks like our Mother (NATURE) dished out plenty of white stuff for everyone to enjoy. HAPPY NEW YEARS MY FELLOW WIND FREAKS!!"'RIDIN'FINE IN '09."

hmmm

It looks like the farther north we go tomorrow the lighter the wind and the deeper the snow.

Are there any lakes to the south with decent snow cover? Anyone check out Byllesby recently? Pepin?

Milly for New Year's sounds great.

Last night on the TV, it looked like the biggest band of snow (14") was centered around Rush City.

* Are there any places to ride around Rush City?
* Can anybody post an update on the conditions at Milly?

Thanks,
John Z

I vote for Milly. Any other place just north of the cities? What about Forest Lake.?They got 5-7 inches yesterday. It is a huge lake with the entrance to it just east of downtown.
Any thoughts?
