I'd wait a little longer... it hasn't been THAT cold this year... I'm thinking around Christmas time would be safer...

There is no snow on swede aside from around 1/2" on some of the edges. The ice is plenty safe there around 5-6" no bad spots, ive been on it for the last 3 days in a row with ice skates.

Haha sup cuz? Hope you're feelin well.
Yea I caught a little session on a buddies Land just west of Ames IA. I was lucky enough to ride a little ridge between 2 cut, unplowed bean fields. The weeds and break between fields accumulated a long runway of snowcover and drifts. Just so worked out to be perfect for the NW wind. When I hit some dirt clumps it helped that I was out on my urban ridin slider board my cuz threw me for christmas couple years ago, thanks Nate. I think Iowa got a bit more snow than MN too (for once). So yea I am still hopin for more snow soon. Swede will be goin off for the bash this year.

The SW'ern part of the metro got at least 4 inches the other night; 2 more this morning. Spring Lake had at least 3 inches on the shoreline I could see from the cracks on monday. Haven't seen it in the daylight since to see how much of the snow stuck. It was windy when it was snowing.

I'm hoping some ice fisherman are out this weekend to give me some feedback on the thickness. It's probably safe except maybe the inlets and springs.

Ride On!
ENJOY :) ........... Bill

AWESOME!

Thanks for the repor everyone.
I gotta say your welcome to our neighbors to the south.

I lived in IA for 4 years while attending Drake in Des Moines, and every year i was there the snow was up here!

So i guess the snow just moves to where i just was....look out Colorado, your gonna get dumped on!!

Once again i might ask a little favor of everyone, throw in a vague description(like two major roads intersecting point) of where some of these places are.

It would REALLY be appreceiated if you threw in a rigging and launch area of choice too :D

This non-local really wants to learn the lay of the land.

ANYONE UP FOR A FIELD SESH THIS SAT??????????
ANYONE KNOW OF SNOW WITHIN 2 HOUR DRIVE??
I GOT PLENTY OF ROOM IN MY TRUCK
